ABOUT THE RINGS

Q. How do I figure out my ring size?
A: We strongly suggest that you visit a local professional jeweler and have the finger sized. If this is a gift for a loved one, we suggest taking a ring that you know fits them, and have it sized by a professional jeweler. We also have a ring sizing chart available online that you may use to determine your ring size. Click here to view the ring sizing tool.

Q: How big are the rings and pendants?
A: Every ring and pendant is enlarged for viewing details. The actual size is noted for each style once you choose the number of stones. Please note, sizes vary. Listed sizes are for size 6.

Q: I need to make a change to a ring I just ordered. Is this possible?
A: If you ordered within the last 24 hours, we can make any change you require. However, if the ring has already entered our manufacturing stage, you must CANCEL the order and place a NEW order.

Q: I lost my ring. Can you replace it?
A: If you purchased the ring through JoyJewelers.com, we have your order information on file. We can manufacture a new ring accordingly. Contact us for more details so we may make payment arrangements with you.

Q. Can you engrave on the inside of the ring?
A: No, we do not provide that service and do not recommend engraving on the interior of the rings. We offer rings with cast names on the top only.

Q. How many characters may each name be?
A: This varies by style. A character is any letter, number, symbol or space.

Close To My Heart pendant, Mother's Devotion, Mother's Swirl, Mother's Trinity 8 characters

ABOUT METAL TYPES

Q: Are the rings available in white and yellow gold?
A: All of our mother's rings and pendants are available in both white and yellow gold, 10kt or 14kt.

Q: What's the difference between 10kt and 14kt gold?
A: 24Kt gold is pure but too soft to use, so it is mixed with other metals to strengthen it. 18Kt is 75% pure. It is the European standard. 14Kt is the most popular choice in the U.S.; however, 10Kt is an affordable, beautiful alternative. There is a noticeable difference in gold color between our 10Kt and 14Kt yellow gold rings. White gold is the quality of 10Kt or 14Kt mixed with different metals to make it silver-colored.

Q: How much nickel is in your mother's rings?
A: White gold mother's rings contain trace amounts of nickel. A 10k white gold ring has approximately 11.75% nickel in it. A 14k white gold has approximately 11% nickel in it. Nickel is used to give the gold alloy a white color. No nickel is used in yellow gold rings.

ABOUT THE STONES

Q: What is the difference between genuine and simulated stones?
A: Simulated stones are stones that are made of a material other than what it is attempting to copy. Cubic zirconium, lab grown corundum, lab grown spinel and glass are common materials used to simulate gemstones. There is a NOTICEABLE difference between simulated and genuine stones.

Q: How big are the stones on the mother's rings and pendants?
A: Please view the our stone size chart, it lists stone sizes for each style.

Q. How many stones can a mother's ring hold?
A: Each mother's ring style has a different maximum. Here are the ring styles that hold the most stones. We regret that we do not sell mother's rings that contain more than eight stones.

Q: May I order larger stones for a particular mother's ring style?
A: Each mother's ring and pendant is designed to hold a specific stone size and shape. We cannot order larger nor smaller stones than those listed.

Q: Why can't I order pearl or opal for my birthstone?
A: We regret that none of our mother's rings offer pearl nor opal. Pearl is not available due to its shape and high cost. Alexandrite is a recognized alternative to pearl. Opal is not available. Q. Can you set stones that I provide?
A: We regret that we cannot set stones provided by customers. Our factories provide all stones, to ensure consistency in quality and color.

Q: May I add stones or names to my mother's ring as my family grows?
A: Yes! You may add stones to any mother's ring for a remake fee of $40, plus a return shipping & handling fee of $20, plus the cost of the stones.
